David Gvinianidze (baritone) – president and artistic director of “Talents of the world Foundation” was born on December 3, 1977 in Georgia. He graduated with “honors” from the Tbilisi Academy of Music. M.Paniashvili and Polytechnical Institute of Georgia. As a Sophomore at the Academy, he becomes one of the leading talk show hosts on Georgian television, speaking on a weekly basis in his own television show program called “Tenor” which addresses a broader audience on subjects such as classical music, opera stars, composers, performances, etc…. The show had such a wide public resonance that after a few episodes, it was broadcasted on national television as well as on international cable channels.
While in his Junior year at the Tbilisi Academy of Music, David Gvinianidze was invited to perform as a soloist of the Batumi State Opera and Ballet Theatre.
After graduation from the Music Academy he was invited to the Newport Opera House (UK), and a number of other opera houses throughout Europe.
Rejecting these proposals, in 2000 the young singer arrives in Moscow, where immediately after the first round of tryouts he becomes a soloist of the “Novaya Opera” Theater in Moscow.
During the period between 2000 and 2003, David combines active work in the theater “Novaya Opera” with participation in international competitions: In 2001 and 2002 he becomes the winner of the Rachmaninov Festival “White Lilac” (Moscow), in 2002 he becomes the recipient of the Leading Award of the International Performers Competition of Russian Romance “Romansiada” (Moscow), in 2004 – he wins the International Contest of Vocalists “ N.Sabitova” (Ufa). In June 2006, David Gvinianidze wins the International Vocal Competition “Valsesia-Music” (chairman of the judges – Fiorenza Kossoto) (Milan, Italy).
In December 2002, he establishes the “Talents of the world Foundation”, all the while continuing active concert tour performances.
In January 2003, at the invitation of the administrative body of the Moscow “Helikon-Opera” Musical Theatre, David Gvinianidze becomes a soloist, performing at the Theatre until 2010.
While residing in Russia, David Gvinianidze, becomes the recipient of multiple awards, winning many festivals, such as: Pushkin Festival “Boldin Autumn” (Nizhny Novgorod), “Kharkiv Musical” (Kharkov, Ukraine), “Moscow. Pushkin. Musical evenings on the Arbat, “Russian music festivals in Velikom Novgorod and Pskov, the ”Maria Bieshu invites …” (Kishinev, Moldova), etc. As one of the organizers, and as the president of the “Talents of the World Foundation”, he revived Art of Opera Festival in Batumi, Georgia.
In 2006, David Gvinianidze was invited as a guest of honor to a session of the World Public Forum the “Dialogue of Civilizations”, which takes place annually, on the island of Rhodes (Greece). The Forum sessions are attended by state and public figures, representatives of science and culture, and religious leaders of many countries. In the same year he founded and headed the Charity Foundation “Talents of the world” and became an active member of the International Association “Knowledge”, heading within this well-known educational organization the department of culture and art.
With his velvet “intoxicating” lyrical-dramatic baritone enhanced by a wide vocal range, and handsome, masculine appearance of a romantic “macho”, David Gvinianidze embodies on the opera house stage the diverse parts of both heroic and lyrical style.
This performers’ concert repertoire consists of more than hundreds of arias from the world opera classics and romances by world renowned composers.
As the author of all his own concert programs and the artistic director of the “Talents of the World Foundation”, he embodies in his venues of Russian projects such as “Constellation Tenors”, “Parade of basses”, “Duel of tenors and basses,” “Royal Turnir or vocal competition between tenors, baritones and basses” (which was presented at the summit of 10 presidents in Astana (Kazakhstan)), “Constellation mezzo-soprano”, “Diva, or rivalry between soprano and mezzo-soprano”, a concert performance of Bizet’s opera “Carmen” (in which the artists of Moscow opera theaters took part in and were recognized as the best performers for each of the roles), the author’s performances of “Anthology of Romance”, “Love Triangle”, “Poetry of Pushkin’s Verse,” and many others. As part of the author’s series “Idols of all time”, David Gvinkianidze has organized concerts with the participation of People’s Artist of the USSR Maria Bieshu and People’s Artist of USSR Nani Bregvadze.
On July 17, 2005, in recognition of achievements in the field of culture on the symphonic stage recreation park “Sokolniki” the opening ceremony of the star of D. Gvinianidze took place. A few months earlier he was awarded the Gold Medal “For philanthropy” by the Association of Theatrical Persons of Russia.
Armenia, Austria, Great Britain, Israel, Greece, Georgia, Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, the United Arab Emirates, United States, Ukraine, Canada, Australia, Taiwan, Bulgaria, Spain, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia are some of the countries where the artist has given numerous concerts, sharing similar success on tour as he enjoys in the United States and Russia.
Arriving for the first time in the United States in 2006, he performed in Washington DC and Virginia at George Mason University. Enamored by America, he receives his “extraordinary” status permanent residency and performs with great success on the American stage.
In the United States, David Gvinianidze organized and conducted concerts devoted to the great tenor Mario Lanza, with the participation of seven tenors from seven different nations. The premiere of the project took place in New York on the stage of “Tribeca Perfoming Art Center” (2008), and on the stage of, “Carnegie Hall” (2009) he organized the concert that included the participation of 3 tenors and his cameo performance.
In 2007, the name of David Gvinianidze was included in the encyclopedia “People of Our Millennium”. In December of the same year he was awarded the United Nations Medal “For Contribution to the Development of Culture”.
In 2008, in the Svetlanov Hall of the Moscow International House of Music a presentation of the executor of one of the highest orders of Russian public was held, the “Ruby Cross of Glory”, was awarded to the performer for his significant contribution to the development of science, culture, and art.
In 2012, David Gvinianidze, was awarded the Diploma of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation for his great contribution to the preservation and development of traditions of Russian vocal performing arts and many years of productive performance.
In 2013, brief biographical material was placed in the encyclopedic edition of the International Swiss publishing house “Who is who in Russia” and in a worldwide edition of Russian Academy of Sciences and Arts “Who is Who”. Simultaneously, the singer was invited to the Kremlin, to participate in the anniversary concert dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of Russia, which was attended by top officials of the state.
Mr. Gvinianidze founds the Annual International Musical Festivals, “Moscow Christmas Special with David Gvinianidze”, “World Wide Shalyapin Festival of Basses”, and “Golden Fall in Sochi, Russia”, in 2013.
In 2014, David Gvinianidze, for his great contribution to the preservation and development of traditions of Russian vocal performing arts and many years of productive performance was awarded the Honorary Diploma of the President of the Russian Federation.
On April 8, 2016, he establishes “Talents of the World Foundation” in the United States, enjoying great success on such famous stages as Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Tribecca Performing Arts Center, Symphony Space, Mechanics Hall, and many others.
In the fall of 2016, David Gvinianidze becomes the recipient of “Successful Georgians of New York” award.
After a very hectic year, in the fall of 2017, Talents of the World Foundation, launches with great success its premier U.S. Tour Commemorating the Late Muslym Magomaev, also known as the “Frank Sinatra” of USSR, spanning ten cities throughout the United States.
In November of 2017, He establishes the “Talents of the World Foundation Annual International Opera competition”. The winners of which, take part in annual festivals presented at Carnegie Hall in New York.
On December 5, 2017, Mr. Gvinianidze receives an Honorary Professor Diploma from Peninsula University of Silicon Valley of Information, Technology and Business.
In the month of May 2018, D. Gvinianidze establishes the “Talents of the World Foundation” branch in Georgia.
In September of 2018, he founds the “Kutaisi International Opera Festival” in his native Kutaisi, Georgia, where over ten opera stars from all over the world performed. This festival was one of the grandest events in the musical history of Georgia.
While working on the “Kutaisi International Opera Festival” he creates the International Young Artists Competition, “The Road to Carnegie Hall” in November of 2018.
During the month of December in 2018, he founds the “Talents of the World International Christmas Festival at Carnegie Hall” in New York.
In February of 2019, David Gvinianidze opens the “DG Cultural Center” for music and fine arts in Pennsylvania, USA.
