Danil Sayfullin was born into a family of professional musicians and began studying music at the age of 5. As a child, he spent long hours in the dressing rooms of the concert hall where the symphonic orchestra of his parents rehearsed. It is no wonder that he dreamed of becoming a professional musician. At the age of 9, while still attending music school, Danil won the regional competition for young musicians in the Solo Singing nomination.
That moment marked the start of his artistic life, with performances soon to follow on the stages of the Tomsk and Novosibirsk Philharmonics. A few years later, he was invited to sing and play the clavichord in the youth group specialised in ancient music "Richerkar", with which he undertook numerous tours in foreign countries: Poland, Hungary, Austria, France, USA and Germany. Singing was the true passion of the young musician, but he also studied piano at the Music School of Tomsk.
Danil achieved considerable success as a pianist. While still a student he performed with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of Tomsk and other musical groups, including tours to Spain and the US. After a tour of 18 concerts, his performances in the US states of Ohio and Michigan led to a rare opportunity for young Danil: he was offered a scholarship to continue his musical studies in the United States. However, the Siberian boy preferred to study in Spain with the renowned professor Stanislav Pochekin, representative of the great school of Heinrich Neuhaus and director of piano at Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona.
Pochekin’s school in Spain is known as "the award factory" for its strong achievements in developing new talents. Working closely with his teacher, Danil prepared a series of concerts of high complexity, one of which (Concert for piano with orchestra No.2 of F.Liszt) he played in his own hometown. After finishing the Conservatory with a magna cum laude qualification, Danil continued his postgraduate piano studies and won the international "Vilafranca del Penedes 2005" competition. Besides studying piano, he undertook singing lessons with professor Raquel Pierotti at Liceu Conservatory, where Montserrat Caballe studied.
According to Danil, his life changed forever when he met master professor Svetlana Nesterenko from Moscow. Many of her disciples have won prizes in international competitions and perform regularly on the biggest stages of the world. For 4 years, Dani improved his vocal technique with professor Nesterenko and prepared several concerts, including a special concert of Spanish music dedicated to the Year of Spain in Russia and Russia in Spain. In December 2011, Danil performed this concert with great success in the cities of Krasnodar, Abakan and Tomsk, along with the symphonic orchestras of these cities and famous soprano Ekaterina Lechina, winner of a Grammy award and the prestigious Operalia competition.
Since 2011, Danil has taken part in several projects by Russian opera diva Lyubov Kazarnovskaya in Slovenia, Lithuania, Spain and Russia. In these same years he has been a regular performer in a series of concerts organised by the well-known Spanish tenor Jaume Aragal in Barcelona.
Danil splits his personal and professional life between Spain and Russia. Since 2001, he maintains a very busy agenda, acting not only as a performer, pianist and singer, but also as an organiser of concerts and festivals. His achievements both in the organisational and artistic fields have been highlighted by the presidents of the Catalonian Government José Montilla and Artur Mas. Catalan television dedicated a program to this young and talented Russian musician. For the last two years Danil has acted as the artistic director of the festival of classical music "Arboc Giralda", held in a beautiful castle in the province of Barcelona. Danil has also participated in the concert series "Music of the peoples of the world" organized by the Catalonian Government, in the "Memories of F. Chopin" festival organised by the Consulate of Poland in Spain and in the Festival of contemporary culture "Europes" organised by the city of Barcelona.
As a performer, Danil regularly participates in concerts that promote Russian music: in 2010 he played a concert dedicated to the anniversary of P.I.Chaikovsky at the Sala Paranimf of Barcelona University; in 2011 he participated in a concert series of contemporary Russian music at the cultural centre Pedro Pruna; between 2012 and 2014 he participated in the concerts series "The path of the Opera" in different cultural centres of Catalonia, where he performed arias from operas by P.Chaikovsky, A.Borodin, S.Rajmaninov, etc. In 2015 he participated in the festival of classical Russian music at the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona; in 2016 he performed at the inauguration of the Russian Language Centre in the Russian House of Barcelona.
On the organising side, Danil has been managing the Russian Academy of Music of Barcelona since 2013 and is currently vice-president of the Russian-Catalan cultural professional association "Sodruzhestvo".
Since 2015, Danil has been actively involved in the promotion of the Russian brand and culture abroad, cooperating closely with numerous organisations. He works with the Russian consulates and the Embassy of Russia in Spain, with the Coordinating Council of Russian Expatriates in Spain and with the Ministry of culture and sports of Russia. In November 2015 the Coordinating Council of Russian Expatriates delegated him to represent the cultural and educational sector in the fifth edition of the World Congress of Russian Expatriates, held in Moscow.
