About
Dan Tanson holds a Masters in Visual Communication in Brussels, specializing in children ́s book illustration. Further he has taken courses in dramaturgy, contemporary puppetry, physical theatre, contemporary dance and improvisation in Belgium, France, Germany, Czech Republic and Luxembourg.
Since 2000 Dan has been working as a freelance performer, director and producer for young audiences. His interest lies in the production of staged music performances in combination with physical theatre, storytelling and contemporary puppetry. He has worked with puppeteer Frank Söhle, dramaturge Michel Tanner, director Dario Moretti and theater maker Karel Van Ransbeek. His performances have been played in Europe (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Italy, France, Belgium, Luxembourg), North Africa, the U.S. and China.
He is the founder and artistic director of the independent theatre company TRAFFIK THEATER LUXEMBOURG producing staged music performances for young audiences. Since 2006 he has collaborated regularly with the Lucerne Festival, Wiener Konzerthaus, Philharmonie Köln, Philharmonie Luxemburg, Les Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg and lately with the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.
In 2018 he has been appointed as ‘Artiste Etoile’ at the prestigious Lucerne Festival, Switzerland.
Dan Tanson lives and works in Luxembourg and Brussels.
