Covent Garden Sinfonietta — orchestra of soloists of the Royal Covent Garden Theatre. The band is known for performing in prestigious concert halls in Europe. His repertoire includes works ranging from Baroque masterpieces to modern compositions.
Covent Garden Sinfonia (CGS) is one of the most dynamic chamber orchestras in London, founded by Ben Palmer in 2007. The orchestra performs at leading venues in the city, including the Royal Festival Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and the Royal Albert Hall (making its debut this year).
CGS specializes in performing film music and recording soundtracks, including works for films "Alien", "Psycho", "Casablanca", "Gold Rush", "Under the Skin", "Peter and the Wolf" and "The Snowman". Recent recordings include the soundtracks to the films Oliver Twist and The Lodger, as well as the soundtrack to the film South for the British Film Institute.
The orchestra collaborates with renowned soloists such as Carolyn Sampson, James Gilchrist and Roderick Williams, as well as with composer David Owen Norris. The orchestra's patron is Sir Roger Norrington.
CGS has performed at the London Soundtrack Festival, Promenade Concerts, the Yorkshire Silent Film Festival, and other significant events.
