The Seventh Fairy leaves heaven after falling in love with the hardworking, kind and filial mortal, and the couple marry beneath a pagoda tree. When their employer demands that she weave ten bolts of silk in one night, her fairy sisters help her complete the task, shortening Dong Yong's three-year service to one hundred days. A heavenly edict then orders her to return and threatens Dong Yong's life if she refuses. To protect him, she bids him a painful farewell and vows that their hearts will remain faithful despite their separation.
