Catherine Trottmann is one of the rising stars of the opera world. Extremely demanded in Europe, her 2017/2018 season is particularly rich and challenging.
After singing Zerlina (Don Giovanni) in Bremen with Le Cercle de l’Harmonie, she had a great success in the role of Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra National du Rhin, critically acclaimed.
In December she made a significant role debut with Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) in Paris Théâtre des Champs Elysées then in Dortmund, and has been invited by the Edinburgh International Festival to sing it again in august.
In spring she sung the role of Stéfano (Roméo et Juliette) in Nice Opera, and Siebel in Gounod’s Faust in Saint-Etienne.
Many concerts complete this rich season, notably her debut in Berlin’s Philharmonie with the Berliner Symphoniker, La Demoiselle Elue (Debussy in Paris Philharmonie, a recital at the Festival de Pâques d’Aix-en-Provence, and Berlioz Les Nuits d’Eté with the Orchestre de Normandie.
Among her recent engagements let us quote the role of Flora (Verdi’s La Traviata) and Tisbe (La Cenerentola) at the Wiener Staatsoper, Tisbe again and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Opéra de Lausanne, and then at the Beaune Festival, the title role in Tistou les Pouces verts from Sauguet in Rouen’s Opera, but also Desargrena in Niels Gade’s Comala under the baton of Laurence Equilbey.
Graduated from the prestigious Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris in June 2014, Catherine Trottmann was early noticed for the richness of her timbre and her scenic investment. She won several prices in competitions, was awarded « Révélation lyrique de l’ADAMI » 2015, and « Lyrical revelation » at the Victoires de la Musique 2017.
In 2011 she made her stage debut in the title role of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges in Paris and at the Festival d’Aix en Provence in 2012. Subsequently, she played the role of Das Stubenmädchen (Boesmans ‘s Reigen), Ramiro (Mozart’s La Finta Giardiniera), Zweite Dame in Mozart ‘s Die Zauberflöte, Hänsel (Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, Zaïda (Il Turco in Italia), Zweite Knappe (Parsifal) and premiered the role of La Rose in Michael Levinas’s Le Petit Prince in Paris Théâtre du Châtelet, Lille Opera , Lausanne’s Opera and in the Grand Théâtre de Genève.
In concert she has been heard in Le Songe d’une nuit d’été with l’Orchestre national de Lyon and l’Orchestre national de Lorraine, the cycle Serres Chaudes from Chausson in Limoges Opera, in Saint-Saëns’s Oratorio de Noël in Moscow with the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Moscow, in Honegger’s Le Roi David at the Salle Pleyel and Notre-Dame de Paris, Duruflé’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Mass in C Major at the Opera d’Avignon, but also Ravel’s Shéhérazade at the Musica Nigella Festival.
She participated in the Festival d’ Aix en Provence with “Viardot la liberté” as well as the french Premiere of Desyatnikov’s “Illusions perdues” besides the Bolchoï Theater’s Ballet, at the Palais Garnier, in 2014.
