Caroline de Vivaise is a French costume designer.
Caroline de Vivaise studied literature and philosophy before turning to costume design. Since the late 1970s, she works as a costume designer for French film. For the film drama The seduced man - L'Homme blessé from 1983, she was first directed by Patrice Chéreau, followed by numerous other joint projects followed over the years. From 1986 to 1988, de Vivaise repeatedly portrayed Catherine Deneuve in her films, such as André Téchiné's The Crime Scene (1986). For filmmaker Claude Berri, de Vivaise designed the costumes of Uranus (1990), a post-war French film starring Gérard Depardieu and Philippe Noiret.
For the mid-19th century movie drama Germinal she received together with Moidele Bickel and Sylvie Gautrelet her first of three Césars in the category Best Costumes. In 1998 Patrice Chéreau entrusted her with the costume design of his award-winning film Who loves me takes the train.
