Italian tenor Carlo Bosi made his Royal Opera debut in 2012 as Dr Caius (Falstaff) and has since sung the Incredibile (Andrea Chénier), Goro (Madama Butterfly), Tinca (Il tabarro) and Gherardo (Gianni Schicchi) for The Royal Opera. He returns in the 2018/19 Season to sing Maestro Trabuco (La forza del destino) and the Incredible.
Bosi grew up and studied in Italy. He has won renown in comprimario roles, singing around Italy for companies including La Scala, Milan, Opera di Firenze, Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro, Arena di Verona, Teatro Regio in Turin and Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa. International engagements include performances for Opéra Monte-Carlo, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Dutch National Opera, Paris Opéra, Israeli Opera and at the Santander, Chorégies d’Orange and Verbier festivals. His repertory includes Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor), Flavio (Norma), Dr Caius, Maestro Trabuco, Cassio (Otello), the Incredibile, Monostatos (Die Zauberflöte), Don Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro), Guillot de Morfontaine (Manon), Pang and Emperor Altoum (Turandot), Nick (La fanciulla del West), Goro, Spoletta (Tosca), Danieli (I vespri siciliani), Tinca and Gherardo (Il trittico), Edmondo (Manon Lescaut), Le Remendado (Carmen), Araldo (Don Carlo), the four servants (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Poisson and the Abbé de Chazeuil (Adriana Lecouvreur) and High Priest (Idomeneo).
Bosi’s recordings include DVDs of Turandot from Arena di Verona and Andrea Chénier with The Royal Opera.
