About
When twenty Aberystwyth graduates who had sung together in university met up in Cardiff in the autumn of 1964 to form a choir, they could scarcely have believed that Cardiff Polyphonic Choir would still be thriving and growing more than fifty years later!
The choir now numbers 65 singers and has been directed since 2015 by David Young. Most years we perform six or seven times covering a wide range of venues and programmes – from Handel in St David’s Hall to Gershwin in Penarth Pavilion. We aim to organise a foreign tour every other year and sang in Lund in Sweden in 2017. The social side of the choir is also very important and there is always time for a well-earned drink after a rehearsal!
