The company was formed by decorated dancers from Russian state ballet theatres in tribute to the composer’s contribution to Russian ballet, and maintains the Russian classical tradition in works including Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Giselle. First performed in Moscow in 1877, Swan Lake follows Prince Siegfried as he faces the choice of a bride at his coming-of-age celebration. At the lake he meets Odette, a swan under an evil spell. At the court ball he is deceived into choosing another woman, then returns to the lake, where the lovers’ devotion breaks the spell. This Beijing performance takes place at Beijing Exhibition Theatre on 26 December 2026 at 19:30. The stated running time is approximately 100 minutes, with the actual duration determined by the performance.
