Axel Schacher (1981 in Paris) is a Swiss-French Violinist.
At the age of four, Schacher received his first violin lessons. Four years later, he won the first prize of the Lutèce competition and at the age of twelve years, the Royaume de la Musique. Shortly thereafter, he was able to play the Spanish Symphony of E. Lalo on the Radio with the guard Républicaine orchestra. As a thirteen-year-old, he joined the Paris Conservatory as Boris Garlitzki. In 1998, Schacher won the first prize of the city of Paris. He graduated with honors. Schacher won the second prize of the international Tibor Varga competition in 2000 and two awards for best Interpretation. Since 2003 he has played in many chamber music Ensembles at various festivals in France. Schacher is currently the first concertmaster in the Basel Symphony Orchestra and a member of the Belcea quartet.
