About

The Ars Musica Orchestra (AMO) is a young, professional, enthusiastic and flexible orchestra and performs throughout the Netherlands. The orchestra is led by chief conductor Patrick van der Linden. During performances the orchestra knows how to involve the audience in the musical experience.

Artistic Vision
Under the banner of Ars Musica, the orchestra programs programs that make connections between old geniuses such as Bach and Beethoven and new eras. This coherence characterizes the programming that Ars Musica advocates.

Education for children and adults is a second important artistic spearhead. For the orchestra, performances are written for music education at primary and secondary schools.

Personal and intimate
The Ars Musica Orchestra distinguishes itself by an active and energetic way of making music and an open, dedicated way of working. The orchestra creates an intimate atmosphere during the concerts, making the audience feel personally involved with the orchestra.

Choral accompaniments
Since its foundation in 2014, the orchestra has also focused on accompanying choirs and soloists. The ensemble participated in beautiful concerts at a high level. The line-up varies from a few musicians to a large symphony orchestra.

Range
The AMO gives concerts throughout the Netherlands. In 2015, the orchestra participated in the groundbreaking production of Hans Lachmann's Requiem in Limburg, recorded and broadcast by Radio 4. In the same year, the AMO played in the open air during the brand-new Naturally Classic Festival at the Schovenhorst Estate in Putten. In 2016, the orchestra participated in television broadcasts of Bach's Matthäus Passion and Handel's Messiah that were broadcast by the EO on NPO2. The orchestra's debut CD was released in September 2017, including Mendelssohn's Hebrew overture and Schubert's Seventh Symphony ("Die Unvollendete").
