Annette Stallinga studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and at the Schumann Academy and completed the course in 2003. Remco Roovers, Elena Vink and Evelyn Tubb formed the basis of her vocal development.
Marjan Kuiper is the current coach of Annette Stallinga and she also regularly receives coaching in various master classes.
As a soloist she sings the broad oratory repertoire, but also orchestral works such as the Kindertotenlieder by Gustav Mahler or smaller occupied ensemble works such as the Stabat Mater by Giovanni B. Pergolesi.
In addition, Annette sings on a project basis in various (sometimes only occupied) ensembles such as PAdam by Maria van Nieukerken and The Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Choir by Ton Koopman. For example, with the Amsterdams Bach Consort o.lv. Hein Meens the St. Matthew Passion of J.S. Bach performed in solo occupation.
Opera is also included in her repertoire: with opera and operetta companies, Opera per Tutti, Xynix / Holland Opera and Stichting Muziek in Huis. Together with Heleen Meijer and Andrew Clark, Annette forms the Luci Serene ensemble.
She finds the perception of text and its interpretation important in performance practice: how does the composer process the texts in his composition and why. She looks for answers by working intensively with it herself and by also coaching others in it.
