Anna Maria Heichele-Paatz grew up in Kleve am Niederrhein and received her first violin lessons at the age of eight. She is a multiple winner of the competition Jugend musiziert and in 2000 received the Sparkassenförderpreis of her hometown.
At the age of 16, she became a student of Rosa Fain at the Robert Schumann University of Düsseldorf, where she began her studies after graduating from high school. After switching to Andreas Krecher, she passed the diploma examination in 2004 and earned the concert exam. She attended numerous master classes, ia. with Herman Krebbers, Zakhar Bron, Thomas Brandis and Igor Ozim. Anna Maria Heichele-Paatz was a member of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, where she played under Claudio Abbado, Pierre Boulez and Ingo Metzmacher. After an internship with the Essen Philharmonic she was an academician of the Munich Philharmonic from 2004 to 2006. Since 2006 Anna Maria Heichele-Paatz has been a permanent member of the Second Violins of the Bavarian State Orchestra.
