Andrea Shin was born in South Korea, he begun his vocal studies at Conservatoire in Hanyang, after he studied at Accademia della Scala, Mozarteum in Salzburg and at Conservatoire in Wien.
He was awarded in many international competitions, among these Voci Verdiane in Busseto and Hans Gabor Belvedere in Wien.
At present he is part of the vocal ensemble at Theater in Karlsruhe among the roles he has performed and he will perform during this season: Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera) Duca di Mantova (Rigoletto), Alfredo (Traviata), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Don José (Carmen), Licinius (La vestale), Alfred (Fledermaus). As guest artist he was invited to perform Faust in Mefistofele in Mainz, Ismaele in Nabucco in Freiburg, Don Carlos in Aachen.
In season 2014/15 he will perform Rodolfo in La bohème in Karlsruhe, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly in Stuttgart, Cavaradossi in Tosca in Hannover.
Other debuted role: Boris Grigorevich e Tichon (Katja Kabanova), Chevalier de la Force (Dialoghi delle Carmelitane), Un tenore italiano (Il cavaliere della rosa), Sou-Chong (Das Land des Lächelns), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Grigory (Boris Godunov).
His oratorio repertoire includes: Messiah by Haendel, La Creazione by Haydn, Symphony No.9 di Beethoven, Requiem by Mozart, Verdi and Fauré.
In 2015 he will be Cavaradossi in Tosca at Savonlinna Festival.
