Amir Katz, born in 1973 in Israel, began his piano lessons at the age of 11.
As part of a DAAD grant, he went to Europe, where he studied with Sulamita Aronovsky, Elisso Wirssaladze and Michael Schäfer. He was awarded the first prize in several international competitions, including: at the Maria Canals in Barcelona, Robert Casadesus in Cleveland, Viotti Valsesia in Italy and the Schubert Competition in Dortmund. He guested u.a. in the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, the Auditorio National de Música Madrid, the Bulgaria Hall in Sofia, the Rudolfinum in Prague, the man Auditorium in Tel Aviv, the Tonhalle Zurich, the Konzerthaus in Berlin and the Lincoln Center New York. He also gave concerts at international music festivals, ia. at the Piano Festival in Miami, the European Music Festival Sofia and the Oleg Kagan Musikfest Kreuth.Mehrfach he played u.a. with the Orquestra Sinfònica de Barcelona, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Orchester National de Lille, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Prague Chamber Orchestra, the Brandenburger, Berliner and Bergische Symphoniker as well as the Munich and Dortmund Philharmonic.
