About
Aliosha Biz is the scion of a family of artists from Austria. Before leaving his hometown in 1989, he studied violin at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
Since then he lives in Vienna, and although he attended the College of Music and Performing Arts there, the Viennese scene also discovered him in the "Academy of the Road". A special love connects Aliosha with all facets of Jewish music. So it is not surprising that the most important ensembles and interpreters who deal with this tradition in Austria have made representations to him: Timna Brauer, head cantor Schmuel Barzilai, Lena Rothstein, Albert Thimann and the Klezmer groups Freijlech and Sholom Aleichem , In addition, he is a sought-after theater musician with theatrical ambitions, as proven by projects with Gerhard Bronner, Adi Hirschal or Karl Merkatz and in various theaters (Theater an der Wien, Landestheater Linz, Burgtheater etc.). He played with Dhafer Youssef, Alegre Corrêa, Lakis & Achwach, the Acoustic Drive Orchestra and the Jacques-Brel-Revue by Maria Bill, to name only the most important of his projects.
