Alexandra Hengstebeck was a junior student with Günther Klaus at the Musikhochschule Frankfurt.
After studying mathematics in 2001, she returned to the double bass after one year and continued her studies with Günther Klaus and Stephan Petzold at the "Hanns Eisler" Academy of Music in Berlin. She has played in the Landesjugendorchester Hessen, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the European Union Youth Orchestra. This was followed by masterclasses as well as scholarships of the orchestra academy of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the foundation Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz. From 2008 to 2012 she was double bass player with the Bamberger Symphoniker. Since 2012 she is engaged in the Bavarian State Orchestra, since 2014 as deputy solo double bass player.
