Alberto Rodríguez Vega made his debut in 1992, performing lighting for shows of alternative companies in Madrid, while continuing his studies. He then worked for various theater and dance companies, such as El Teatro de Danza Española directed by Luisillo, a disciple of Carmen Amaya, with whom he made a three-month tour in 1994 in the United States. He is studying the job of director of photography at the School of Cinema in Madrid (ECAM). His film collaborations include Mercado de Futuros (2011) and El cielo gira (2004), films directed by Mercedes Álvarez, who were honored at the prestigious Rotterdam Film Festival. From 1999 to 2000, he worked at the National Drama Center (Teatro María Guerrero) as assistant to the technical direction.
In 2002, he began a regular collaboration with the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, both as director of photography (realizing the adaptation of lyric productions for television retransmissions or DVD recordings) as a lighting designer. He creates the lights of the recital given to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of José Carreras's debut, Me llaman la Primorosa with soprano Ángeles Blancas and directed by Emilio Sagi, La Ventafocs (directed by Joan Font), The Master Altarpiece Pierre with the Etcetera Company. He has worked with directors like Calixto Bieito, Ivo Van Hove, Stefan Herheim, Joan Anton Rechi, Gilbert Deflo, Konrad Zschiedrich, Emilia Carilla, Jordi Coca, Boris Rotenstein, etc. and artists such as Karen Ackers, José Carreras, Andrea Marcovicci, Adriana Varela, Barbara Cook and multimedia artists like Marcel-lì Antúnez. Among the theaters in which it has appeared are La Fenice in Venice, the Opéra national de Lyon, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Teatro Regio in Turin, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Teatro Akademia, the Opera Oviedo, Teatro de la Maestranza (Seville), ABAO (Bilbao), Teatro Arriaga, Teatro Baluarte de Pamplona, Teatro Calderón de Valladolid.
