From hushed meditations on longing to soaring declarations of transcendence, Heucke’s vivid orchestration and nuanced vocal lines breathe fresh life into Rilke’s verse. This UK premiere pairs these contemporary Lieder with Robert Schumann’s timeless cycle of love songs, in which the composer’s ardent harmonies and lyrical melodies capture the profound depths of human affection.
