In addition to the summer opera “La Bohème,” the centerpiece of the 2027 season, Artistic Director Clemens Unterreiner presents a high-caliber selection of unique cultural experiences as part of KulturBURG, running from spring through autumn. A varied lineup of open-air events across different genres, from pop and folk music to cabaret, perfectly complements the program of EventBURG.

DIE PALDAUER – The most successful German pop band of our time – will be performing their exclusive concert in 2027.

Last year showed us in a special way how important health, togetherness, and joy of life are – and how much music connects people. Especially in challenging times, we feel the power of melodies that give hope and touch hearts.

For over four decades, DIE PALDAUER have been delighting their audiences and are among the most successful German pop bands in Europe. With their unmistakable sound, their warmth, and their passion, they stand like no other group for genuine, heartfelt German pop music.

In an age full of effects and technology, DIE PALDAUER focus on what's essential: real music, honest emotions, and a close connection with their audience. Their concerts are a special experience – featuring the greatest hits from over 40 years of band history: from classics like "Tanz mit mir Corina" (Dance with me Corina), "Düsseldorfer Girl" (Düsseldorf Girl), "Ich muss dich wiedersehen" (I have to see you again), and "3000 Jahre" (3000 years) to their current hit "Bis ans Ende der Welt" (To the Ends of the Earth).

No show effects - just pure music in the unique PALDAUER sound and an evening full of emotion, joy of life and musical surprises.

The unique atmosphere of the thousand-year-old Babenberg Castle in Gars / Thunau and the unique acoustics that allow opera to be played here without any reinforcement from singers or orchestra make up the magic of this exquisite venue.

Against the backdrop of the castle's former commercial wing, the audience can enjoy a wonderful musical and theatrical experience in each of the 1,250 seats in the grandstand. This open-air opera house impresses its guests with its very special charm.

This potential was already recognized at the end of the 1980s, and in 1990 the first major opera production was realized in Burg Gars. From then on, under the direction of the director and manager Karel Drgáč, the opera was performed every summer under the name “Opern-Air” in Gars Castle.
