Izmir State Opera and Ballet
Izmir State Opera and Ballet, the State Opera and Ballet directorates in Turkey is one of six opera-ballet, which operates under the General Directorate. It was established in 1982. Haldun Özörten is acting as Director and Artistic Director.
The Alhambra Cinema building, which was established in 1980 to raise funds for the National Library and opened in 1926, was rented and restored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. On 21 October 1982, it opened its doors to art lovers with Çeşmebaşı Ballet and Meddah Opera under the direction of its founding director H. Necdet Aydın.
