Heredia Theatre
The Heredia Theater was built in 1911 on the site of an early 17th century church named La Merced. This performing arts center was designed by Luis Felipe Jaspe, the same architect responsible for the Torre del Reloj (Clock Tower). It was called the Municipal Theater when it opened as part of the city’s celebration of its 100 years of independence. Now it is named after the city’s founding father, Pedro de Heredia.
