Haus Leipzig

In the heart of the city, people, culture and music. The Haus Leipzig continues the mix of tradition and modernity. As a former culture house, it shines in new splendor today and sets cultural and musical highlights. Located near the city center, it offers an ideal venue for music, culture, theatre, comedy, club concerts, conferences, weddings, anniversaries and gala events, among other things.

The Haus Leipzig has been a venue for concerts, balls, theater and cabaret performances since 1946. Originally opened as a large bowling alley in 1930, it was severely damaged by air raids during World War II. In 1946 the Soviet Intourist GmbH took over the house and expanded it into a hotel called Haus Antifa. The former bowling hall was transformed into a dance hall with space for 600 people. In 1953 the hotel became state property and was renamed Haus Leipzig. From 1961 to 1989 the building housed the central club for youth and athletes »Artur Becker«. After various uses after the political change, the newly designed Leipzig building was reopened in 2014 for events with up to 1,400 people.
