Overview
It’ll be hard not to fall head over heels with Italy’s City of Love. As the settings for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and the 2010 romcom ‘Letters to Juliet’, cupid’s arrow is a fixture in Verona. You’ll visit the most important locations of the film and follow in the steps of the real Romeo and Juliet on this small group tour. Visit the House of Romeo – a medieval castellated palace – and see the streets where the fight between Romeo and Tybalt took place as you make your way to Juliet’s house.Enter the small, cobbled courtyard that reveals the 13th-century house of Shakespeare’s leading lady. You’ll see the wall where the broken-hearted leave their letters to Juliet – there’s a small post box if you want to send your own. Gaze at the infamous bronze statue of Juliet and the balcony – where many proposals and weddings take place. Sara adds, ‘Leave a lock in the courtyard or embrace a local tradition of touching Juliet’s right breast to find fortune in love.’
