Overview
If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, then visit Pulau Ubin to see animals and birds, as well as historical landmarks.After getting picked up at your hotel, board a bumboat to Pulau Ubin. Once you arrive, you will first visit the Nature Gallery, where you will be briefed about your day. Hop on a local van and start by checking out the eastern part of the Island, Chek Jawa Wetlands. On arrival, you will first visit House No 1, a visitor centre built in the 1930s and restored to its present Tudor style in 2003. Thereafter, continue exploring the two routes to see the whole wetland, the Coastal Loop (600m) and Mangrove Loop (500m) broad walks with lookout platforms and shelters. Along the way, climb the seven-storey high (20m) Jejawi Tower to view the tree canopy and observe the biodiversity. Next, you will continue to the northern part of the island to stop for pictures at the Balai Quarry. Then, as you continue to the western part of the island. you will also stop for a photo at the Kekek Quarry as well as Ketam Quarry. After all the photo ops, get yourself ready to hike to Puaka Hill, the tallest point on Pulau Ubin at 74 meters high overlooking the Ubin Granite Quarry. If you haven't been very active due to the pandemic, don't worry because it'll only take 15-20 minutes and you'll enjoy the amazing view of Singapore and Malaysia.Once you've enjoyed the view, continue with a visit to the Wei Tuo Fa Gong Temple with shrines dedicated to different gods like Datuk Gong hillside spirits, Hindu Gods, and Chinese Buddhas. Finally, you'll visit the Fruit Tree Arboretum, where you can see 350 fruit trees including rambutan and starfruit (depending on the season), the more exotic fruits in Asia that are generally unavailable in the west. To end the tour, you will have lunch at a local restaurant before going back to your hotel.
