Overview
You probably know Belgium for its chocolates and beers but art is probably the greatest aspect of Belgium. Discover the works of major artists associated with Belgian art history, from 1880 until the present day visiting the Mu.ZEE in Ostend!Tucked away between the Mercatorship and the Kursaal, the Mu.ZEE is a modernist building from the 1940s designed by Gaston Eysselinck. Since 1986, the museum features a collection of more than 8000 works of art and provides an overview of Belgian visual art from 1830 until the present day. You'll discover a fascinating collection of ideas, images, objects, illustrations, films, and paintings by major artists such as James Ensor, Léon Spilliaert, and Constant Permeke.
