This private tour is dedicated to the women who were unfairly convicted prisoners of “ALZHIR” - the Akmola camp of the wives of "traitors to the Motherland".You will get familiar with the dark side of Soviet history in Kazakhstan and learn about the crime against humanity, Soviet citizens and women in particular.Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Astana to depart for the Alzhir memorial which is located about 40 Kilometres from the city. Visit the museum of political repression of the camp “ALZHIR” (Akmol). Upon arrival go on a private excursion with an English-speaking guide from the memorial complex.Millions of people were sent to the concentration camps during the Stalin era. Even women became victims of this brutal regime. There were two large concentration camps for women in USSR - Temlyakovsky, 40 km from Gorky and “ALZHIR".After the visit, you will be taken back to the hotel in Astana.
