Overview
After pick-up, the first place you’ll visit is Lalbagh market. Prepared to be amazed by its bursting colors and shops selling an array of spices, chilies, rustic lanterns, metal trunks and colorful cowbells of various sizes.Then, visit the Crawford market, named after Bombay's first municipal commissioner Arthur Crawford. This market resembles a scene from Victorian London, with its sweet smell of hay and 50-foot-high sky-lit awning that bathes the entire venue in natural sunlight. Here you will be able to find a wide variety of items for sale as well as mountains of fresh fruits and vegetables!Next on your agenda is a place where waves of human life roll down the center of the streets. It may look like absolute chaos but no visit to Mumbai is complete without a foray into the bazaars of Bhuleshwar. Within just a few square kilometers you can find a seething mass of people, along with a dense concentration of shops, street stalls, and a dozen bazaars with more commodities for sale than you’ll see probably anywhere else in a lifetime.Finally, you’ll visit the Colaba Causeway market; a narrow, busy street filled with shops and Indian designer boutiques. Souvenirs, trinkets and handicrafts are a highlight of this particular area and it is often referred to as a delightful visual introduction to the sights and sounds of the book, ‘Maximum City: Bombay Lost and Found’.
