Overview
Explore the stunning nature of Malaysia on a guided boat excursion through the Sedili Wetland. You'll be picked up from your hotel lobby and taken to a typical fishing village in the Sedili area where your relaxing river cruise begins.Discover three different vegetation belts teeming with life, from the rich mangrove forest to the Nypa swamp, Putat and Pandanus belt before finally reaching the freshwater swamp where the endangered Water Trumpet can be found.Along the way, your nature guide will tell you about the people living in the Sedili Wetlands and help you spot wildlife such as fiddler crabs, mollusks and kingfishers as well as migratory birds and if you're very lucky, even a family of otters playing in the river.Locals depend on both the wetlands and the sea for their livelihood; find out how fishing plays a key role in their lives, as do the leaves and plant extracts from the trees used as resources for infrastructure, medicine and other aspects of their culture.
