Meet your guide in the lobby of your hotel and discover the deep history of Pingyao's World Cultural Heritage Old Town during a private day tour.Begin with a tour of the well-preserved old town, with its great wall, traditional residences, old security companies, traditional stores and former government offices. With your guide, learn how Pingyao played an important role in the economic development of Shanxi during the Ming and Qing dynasties.Founded during the Western Zhou Dynasty (1046 - 771 BC), Pingyao Old Town is one of the four best-preserved ancient cities in China. During your visit, your guide will introduce you to the history, culture and architecture of the old town, which was declared a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1997. Later, take a break and enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional local dishes. Afterwards, visit the Confucius Temple and walk through the God Temple before exploring one of the best preserved ancient walls of Chia. To conclude the tour, the local guide will take you back to the hotel.
