Overview
Join the winter bird walk in Inari to observe the local birds, which are locally fed to help them survive the long winter. The walk begins in the local forest where Siberian Jay, Siberian Tit and Great Tit are commonly found. Sometimes you might come across the Capercaillie and/or Willow Grouse.By mid-February or early March the search is on for the first Pine Grosbeaks as they migrate back. As spring progresses the Bullfinch,Greenfinch, Common and Arctic Redpolls, Siskin and Brambling usually return to the feeding site. You'll also observe possible bird tracks and signs during the bird walk, learn how birds survive a harsh and long winter and discover for example how the three-toed Woodpecker collects its food in the primary forests. It is recommended to you bring your own camera and/or binoculars. At the end of the walk you'll enjoy an open-fire hot drink and local snacks in the kota while admiring birds or even squirrels at nearby feeders.
