Overview
On this day trip, you'll immerse yourself in Thai culture and delve through its WWII history. Take in the colourful spectacle that is Damnoen Saduak floating market, then it's over to Kanchanaburi to visit the JEATH Museum and take a longtail boat ride to the notorious bridge over the River Kwai. The Damnoen Saduak floating market is a sight to behold. You'll see vendors crammed into the waterways on boats overflowing with fruit and vegetables. After this taste of Thai culture, we'll set off to Kanchanaburi. First up is the JEATH Museum, which has a collection of personal effects from Allied POWs during WWII. One of the galleries is a replica of the attaps – barracks made from bamboo – in which the prisoners lived.Afterwards, you'll jump into a longtail boat for a cruise on the Mae Klong River to a restaurant for lunch. Walk over the original bridge before we return via Kanchanaburi War Cemetery, the final resting place of almost 7,000 Allied soldiers, including many British.
