Overview
Meet your guide from one of the many pick-up locations in and around Hobart early in the morning and board a ferry where you will enjoy the scenic beauty of Bruny Island.Your day begins with a walk through the Truganini Lookout and Neck Wildlife Reserve and a visit to Adventure Bay. On the way you can buy oysters, a selection of Bruny Island cheeses and wood-fired bread, before heading to one of the beaches to enjoy the cheese and oysters picnic-style (if it rains, a back-up plan is provided). Afterwards, search for white wallaby, eagles, whales and more in the wild and join a tour of Cape Bruny Lighthouse, known as Australia's oldest inhabited lighthouse. Continue with an exploration of the Neck Wildlife Zone and climb the steps of the Truganini Lookout, which connects North Bruny and South Bruny with 360-degree views. The afternoon is devoted to more local delights with chocolate, caramel and honey tastings, and there's plenty of time for shopping. Additional stops are planned at some of the guides' favourite places depending on the day.
