Overview
Get ready for this worthwhile cultural experience of Kakadu! You’ll kick start the day with a 60-minute scenic flight, flying over Adelaide River, Mary River National Park, Kakadu’s winding South and East Alligator rivers, coastal mangroves holding back massive floodplains to reveal the Arnhem Land Plateau standing proudly on the Eastern side of Kakadu. Your expert pilot will deliver informative commentary along the way. Then, you’ll then get ready for a Guluyambi Cultural Cruise where your local guides will provide authentic insight into Aboriginal culture, local folklore, and stories as you cruise along Kakadu’s scenically spectacular East Alligator River. Discover the region's unique environment and how plants and animals have been used to support the traditional lifestyle of the people who lived here. You may even learn some bush survival skills! Enjoy a delicious custom-made packed lunch overlooking the rich, verdant vista, teeming with wildlife. A visit to the nearby Ubirr Rock Art site is up next, where you’ll immerse yourself in the timeless culture of the Bininj/Mungguy people through the rock art sites and enjoy the spectacular views of the floodplains to the west. After a jam-packed day, you’ll make your way back on a 1-hour ferry flight back to Darwin.
