Overview
Before the Holocaust, 173,000 Jews lived in Berlin. In 1945, there were only 9,000 survivors. Learn about the turbulent events of WWII, and hear interesting facts and important stories. Follow your private guide along the path of sites and places connected with Jewish life and history. During the 2-hour walking tour, you will see the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, a significant site consisting of 2,711 concrete slabs. It commemorates the victims of the Holocaust and keeps the memory of unimaginable events from German history. Stroll through the Bebelplatz and hear the history of Nazi book-burning action. Take a look at the important monument named Trains to Life - Trains to Death built in the memory of the child victims of the Holocaust. Explore the Jewish Quarter and walk along the Oranienburgerstrasse passing by the New Synagogue.
