This free recital weaves the contemplative serenity of Advent works with the kaleidoscopic colours of Olivier Messiaen’s masterpieces, guiding listeners through whispered flutes, soaring reeds and thunderous bass. Originally built in 1924 for a Scottish castle ballroom and installed in this sacred space in 1954, the instrument’s thousands of pipes breathe life into every nuance, filling the interior with history and sonic splendour.
