Overview

Rediscover Handel’s Messiah with Platinum Consort—where seasoned professionals and young choristers unite in vivid, historically informed brilliance. Experience familiar choruses and arias reimagined through bold musical choices and the vibrant colours of period instruments.Under the direction of Scott Inglis-Kidger, Platinum Consort presents Handel’s Messiah with an approach that honours the composer’s original vision while embracing fresh, expressive interpretations. Professional consort singers blend seamlessly with talented young choristers, their voices weaving through the grandeur of beloved choruses and solo arias. A period-instrument orchestra—rich strings, bright winds and rhythmic continuo—illuminates every nuance of Handel’s score, from delicate recitatives to triumphant choruses. Soloists emerge organically from within the ensemble, reflecting the scale and flexibility of performances in Handel’s day, while imaginative phrasing and dynamic contrasts give each movement immediacy and dramatic impact. Now in its sixth year, Platinum’s Messiah invites audiences to experience this masterpiece with renewed vitality, historical insight and heartfelt ensemble unity.
