Programme

Overview

Experience the premiere of freshly edited Haydn’s Op. 17 quartets alongside Komitas’s heartfelt folk melodies, unveiled by the acclaimed Chilingirian Quartet. A rare opportunity to hear these works in their definitive new editions.Join the Chilingirian Quartet for an evening of chamber music brilliance as they present two landmark 2027 editions: Simon Rowland-Jones’s meticulous new edition of Haydn’s Op. 17 quartets and Levon Chilingirian’s collaboration on Sergei Aslamazian’s arrangements of Komitas’s Armenian folksongs. Each piece unfolds with renewed clarity, from Haydn’s playful interplay of voices to the evocative simplicity of Armenian folk melodies. Audiences will be among the first to experience these works in their freshly edited form, enriched by decades of scholarship and artistic insight. The performance runs approximately two hours, including a 20-minute interval, with tickets starting at £7 for students and young adults, front-row seats from £28 online (£31 at the door), and special LCMS Friends rates of £21 online (£23.25 on the night).
