Through prayer-inspired performances of Dall’Abaco, Bloch, Sollima, Bach, Ligeti and Živković, witness music’s power to elevate the spirit.Part of the ECHO Rising Stars series, this solo cello recital by Petar Pejčić unfolds as a profound musical pilgrimage. Inspired by his personal relationship to the process of prayer, the programme opens with the introspective stillness of Dall’Abaco and Bloch, drawing listeners into a space of hushed contemplation. As the evening advances, Sollima’s daring passages push the cello’s expressive boundaries, preparing the way for moments of pure rapture in works by Bach, Ligeti and Živković. Across each movement, the cello transcends mere technique to become the very voice of the soul, guiding the audience from quiet meditation to overwhelming elation and self-transcendence.
