Programme

Overview

Step into a candlelit sanctuary and experience Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons like never before. Join a renowned chamber ensemble and virtuoso soloist for a breathtaking evening of Baroque brilliance and timeless artistry.Under the gentle glow of flickering candles, a distinguished chamber orchestra brings Vivaldi’s iconic Four Seasons to life in an intimate, resonant setting. Each movement unfurls a vivid portrait of nature’s moods—from the joyful awakening of spring to the rumbling drama of summer storms, the warm hues of autumn harvests and the hushed serenity of winter’s landscape. Acclaimed violinist Ciaran McCabe joins the ensemble to navigate these familiar concertos with fresh nuance and electrifying virtuosity. Between the seasonal concertos, the programme unfolds with a selection of treasured Baroque, Classical and early Romantic chamber works, showcasing the ensemble’s exceptional range and cohesion under the artistic direction of pianist-conductor Warren Mailley-Smith. Perfectly balanced, richly textured and brimming with emotional depth, this candlelit concert invites listeners on a journey through sound and shadow, where every note shines with elegance and inspiration.
