Overview

Candlelight meets cinema as the Piccadilly Sinfonietta celebrates John Williams’ most iconic film scores. From the Star Wars fanfare and daring Indiana Jones escapades to the magic of Harry Potter and the haunting strings of Schindler’s List, embark on a breathtaking orchestral journey.Under the soft glow of candlelight in a historic church, the Piccadilly Sinfonietta brings John Williams’ extraordinary film music to life with breathtaking precision and passion. The evening opens with the bold, universe-defining fanfare of Star Wars, before you’re swept into the daring expeditions of Indiana Jones and the ominous, tension-laden depths of Jaws. Flourishing strings and resonant brass conjure the awe of Jurassic Park’s primeval landscapes, while haunting solo violin passages whisper the poignant sorrow of Schindler’s List. Gentle woodwinds and shimmering harp lines capture E.T.’s innocent wonder, and familiar, magical motifs from the Harry Potter series fill the nave with enchantment. The concert culminates in the triumphant, heroic swell of Superman’s theme, leaving you exhilarated long after the final note fades. This chamber orchestra—featuring Britain’s finest virtuosi—transforms Williams’ timeless scores into an intimate, immersive musical narrative, making for an unforgettable candlelit soirée.
