Programme

Overview

Embark on a mesmerising sonic journey as Jean Rondeau’s seamless harpsichord improvisations flow into a daring percussion-driven reimagining of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Discover a vibrant encounter where Baroque tradition meets modern innovation.Surrender to uninterrupted musical currents in the first half of the evening, as Jean Rondeau blends canonical harpsichord works with spontaneous improvisation rooted in Baroque performance practice. Without breaks or preconceptions, each ornament and melodic turn emerges organically, inviting you to savour every unexpected twist. In the second half, Rondeau teams up with percussionist Tancrède Kummer for UNDR, a bold deconstruction of Bach’s Goldberg Variations. Percussive textures and rhythmic pulses refract each variation into fresh sound worlds, illuminating hidden nuances of this enduring masterpiece. Experience an evening where elegant heritage and boundary-pushing innovation converge in real-time creative dialogue.
