Singer-cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson invites you to New Roots: In Conversation, an immersive evening of music, poetry, dance and dialogue exploring identity and renewal. Experience a moving blend of performances and conversation that celebrates ancestry, belonging and collective healing.New Roots: In Conversation presents a rich blend of sound, verse, movement and dialogue led by singer-cellist Ayanna Witter-Johnson. In this immersive residency launch, her poignant cello melodies and contemporary songs are complemented by spoken-word poetry, expressive dance sequences and live discussions that probe themes of identity, belonging, ancestry and renewal within the diaspora. Joined by her band and special guests—an incisive poet whose lines reveal journeys of displacement, a dancer performing movements inspired by ancestral traditions and a presenter guiding the exchange—the programme flows from intimate musical reflection to dynamic collective dialogue. Audiences are invited into a space of listening, storytelling and celebration, exploring how personal roots shape collective resilience and connection.
