Founded by four friends whose journey began at the Perlman Music Programme and continued at Juilliard, this ensemble brings over a decade of shared artistry to the stage. Their programme opens with Beethoven’s String Quartet in F major, Op. 18, No. 1, a work of sweeping imagination and emotional depth that helped shape the chamber music tradition. Next, Florence Price’s String Quartet No. 1 blends Romantic lyricism with African American musical influences, revealing the distinctive voice of one of the twentieth century’s most significant composers. The concert concludes with Gershwin’s Lullaby, a brief yet radiant miniature whose warm melody and jazz-inflected harmonies offer an elegant, soothing finale.
