All aboard for Far, Far Away – Aurora Orchestra’s immersive musical adventure for children aged 0–5 and their families. Conduct a steam train, soar beneath floating hot air balloons, guide a unicorn across a painted road and sing with sailing ships, all set to vibrant chamber arrangements of Fanny Mendelssohn.Step into Aurora Orchestra’s Far, Far Away for a family journey that turns the concert stage into an interactive landscape of music and imagination. With chamber arrangements of Fanny Mendelssohn’s melodies by Iain Farrington and an original narrative by Kate Wakeling, young audiences take part at every turn: conducting a lively steam train across imaginary tracks, reclining under a sky of floating hot air balloons, guiding a gentle unicorn safely over a painted road and joining a chorus of singing sailing ships. As the musicians weave familiar themes and playful new interludes, children aged 0–5 and their families are invited to move, sing and explore in a world where each touch and each note shapes the unfolding story. Far, Far Away blends artistry and playfulness to introduce the youngest concertgoers to the wonders of classical music in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
