Juliana Zara is an American soprano. She is a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music where she was designated the Rubin Scholar by Marilyn Horne. Currently the recipient of the Louise and Marguerite Bloomberg-Greenwood prize and a fellow of the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now initiative, Ms. Zara pursues her master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” Berlin under the tutelage of Prof. Anna Korondi. Ms. Zara will join the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper for their 2019/2020 season.
She has held fellowships at Marilyn Horne’s The Song Continues at Carnegie Hall, and Opera NEO in San Diego, CA. With Early Music America, she performed Clérambault’s Orphée at the Boston Early Music Festival. Additionally she has performed Elle in La voix humaine, Arminda in La finta giardiniera, and Flaminia in Il mondo della luna in Oberlin, San Diego and Berlin. As a chamber music soloist she has performed with Oberlin Sinfonietta and more recently with Echo Ensemble in Berlin.
