Celebrate centuries of Black musical excellence in an electrifying, soul-stirring performance.Messiah: Re-Imagined unfolds in three movements—prophecy, redemption and resurrection—each reimagined through Baroque, gospel, jazz and rap. The first section greets the promise of salvation with vibrant gospel chorales and elegant Baroque arias. The middle movements reflect on sacrifice and compassion through soulful solos and jazz-inflected interludes. Finally, the climactic resurrection emerges in a jubilant, genre-defying chorus, uniting a chamber orchestra, gospel choir and dynamic soloists. This world premiere honors centuries of Black sacred musical tradition in a transcendent celebration of hope, community and the enduring power of song.
