Seventeen brass musicians perform Hannah Peel’s Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia as Katya Bourvis’s choreography unfolds Pia’s three-generation voyage through memory, imagination and transformation.In a powerful fusion of movement and sound, choreographer Katya Bourvis and creative producer Tala Lee-Turton present a live experience set to Hannah Peel’s acclaimed score, Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia. A seventeen-piece brass band fills the space with rich, resonant tones as Pia—a Barnsley woman—travels across three generations of her life. Through fluid choreography and evocative design, the performance weaves between the soot-stained corridors of her hometown’s closed collieries and her increasingly vivid space-born reveries. This immersive journey probes the fleeting nature of human existence, the echoes of memory and the boundless reach of imagination, inviting audiences to witness a stirring exploration of time, place and inner worlds.
