Sant Feliu de Guíxols
Sant Feliu de Guíxols is a coastal city in the heart of the Costa Brava and is renowned for its fishing and cork industry, a rich and varied history, not to mention amazing beaches and historical buildings. If you’re looking for some fabulous beaches, Sant Feliu is the main and largest beach in the city and its waters will not disappoint.
Sant Pol is the second largest with an array of small bays and coves waiting to be explored. Water and adventure lovers can choose to walk the Camino de Ronda seawalk from the port to arrive at the beach of Sant Pol for close-up views of the untouched landscape. See if you can spot the iconic coloured beach huts here! Lose yourselves in the Spanish atmosphere of the seafront promenade, Passeig de Mar, lined with bars and restaurants and explore what the narrow streets of the old town have to offer. You might be lucky enough to see the market in full swing (on Sundays) at the municipal market square and see all the local produce on offer. In August, the party comes to life with the Porta Ferrada festival with good music and international artists. As you wander around the city center, one of the most unique buildings in the town has to be the Casino de la Constancia with its impressive yellow facade and oriental feel. The Monastery of Sant Feliu de Guíxols is a place you can’t miss out on! This monumental complex features Porta Ferrata, a church, and two towers. Here you can also find the History Museum of the town, paintings and exhibitions.
